The Tempest Spires

Jagged mountains pierce the sky where the kingdom of Aeleth meets the edge of the world. Endlessly beset by storms, the Tempest Spires are legend for their unpredictable weather and the wyverns that soar through thunder and lightning. Only the bravest mountaineers or desperate fugitives ascend these perilous ridges, where ancient ruins tell of a vanished civilization that tamed the storms once—and perhaps built the sky castles that flicker into visibility when lightning splits the night. Their secrets, etched in half-erased runes, lure scholars and power seekers alike.

Thresholds of the Fae

Hidden in the oldest groves of the world, portal-arches pulse with silver light beneath the sprawling roots of trees as old as memory. Known as the Thresholds of the Fae, these mystical gates shimmer between worlds. No magic can predict where—or when—they will open, nor what emerges from the realms beyond. Locals warn of bargains and boons, of vanished children heard singing at twilight, and of odd flowers growing overnight. Fae scholars maintain complex pacts to keep the passageways safe, while adventurers risk much for the treasures and knowledge rumored to lie in faerie halls.

Umberdeep: City Below

Beneath the earth’s crust lies Umberdeep, a metropolis carved into ancient bedrock and aglow with veins of crystal, bioluminescent fungus, and clever magic. Its markets throng with miners, artisans, golems, and secretive shadowfolk ferrying goods and secrets through winding tunnels. Down here, legends of a slumbering dragon beneath the central plaza keep both fear and prosperity alive. The city’s laws are harsh but just, enforced by stone sentinels whose judgment is incorruptible. Outsiders are welcomed—if they can respect the customs, and pay the toll of rare minerals or secrets.

The Wandering Tide

On certain nights when the twin moons align, the Wandering Tide sweeps along the coasts, bringing with it ships of mist and the echoes of drowned mariners. Fisherfolk bar their doors against the spectral tide, for the phantoms seek souls to join their endless voyage. Still, brave (or reckless) souls venture to the water’s edge, searching for messages in the foam, lost treasures, or a chance to speak with long-gone loved ones, hoping the sea’s memory will grant closure—or perhaps reclaim what should remain lost.

Skyspire Ascendant

There are cities, they say, that float beyond the eyes of mortals, shining spires suspended among the clouds. Skyspire Ascendant is the grandest—its towers built from prism crystal, linked by bridges of light that sing in the wind. Here, scholars practice wind-magic; winged folk and cloud elk graze in meadows suspended above the world. The floating city’s secrets are fiercely guarded, but those who glimpse Skyspire from mountain peaks say it is a vision of hope, reserved for the boldest dreamers and the worthiest souls who long to soar beyond the limits of earth.
